UX & web copy for Yobota
Challenge
UX and web copy are always about functionality and a good experience. With this practical mindset, delivery is quite straight forward.
The challenge in this particular project was the lack of copy guidelines. In the absence of a tone of voice, the entire creative team had to build the bridge while pretty much standing on it.
Context
Yobota has come into being in 2016 with specific business goals. However, it is only recently that the business decided to rethink its position on the market and explored new revenue streams. Part of this avenue was also creating a set of white label apps and landing pages for which I wrote the copy.
Process
For successfully writing UX copy, I worked closely with the UX team. It was crucial to understand the product and the user journey.
- I’d sit with the UX designer and be walked through the journey. It was a rather interactive moment where I’d ask questions and we’d go over scenarios.
- I’d write the actual copy.
- Of course, the copy was not set in stone and, as a team, we’d go over it, trying to perfect it.
The landing pages were born in discussions with the UX team. I’d put together a narrative that would do justice to the message we’d want to convey, the UX team was responsible to translate that narrative in a web structure.

What others said about working with me …
It was a great experience working with Oana. She is always giving the extra mile when doing her job. She took a valuable part in the company rebranding process and always pointed out where we can improve more. I really enjoyed working with her and I am sure she can be a great asset to any company.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Oana at Yobota. She is a very enthusiastic and energetic person, while also being very professional. Devising a marketing strategy relies heavily on research and she was always able to argument her choices based on observations about competitors as well as observations inside the company. She is also a very engaging and fun person to be around, very good at communicating with various team members across the company.
My main professional interaction with Oana was when she interviewed me as part of a company culture survey. She proved to be an excellent communicator. Because she studied engineering to a post-graduate level, Oana adds an unusually high level of technical knowledge to her formidable communication skills. She clearly has a great passion for writing, and is skilled enough to tune the ‘voice’ of messaging to particular audiences.
Dear recruiter,
If my work made you think I’d be a good fit for a position but you need some more details, you should know that I value the privacy of my clients as much as my own. This is why I am not comfortable making certain things public. I would, however, be very happy to give you more details in private.
Please use the contact form with confidence.
Thank you,
Oana
